About Barbara Hebert
My name is Barbara (B.Gail) Barrett Hebert. I hope you enjoy this website as much as I have enjoyed creating it.
All my Life I have loved Art. Art comes in many shapes, forms and fashion. I started my love for art, with my Father at the age of 9. He would take me to Sulphur High School Library in Sulphur, Louisiana and study art classes with the adults class instead of the children's classes. Not only did I get to spend quality time with my Dad, Art just seem to fit.
Libby Shipman was the next artist that took me under her wings. She held Saturday art sessions teaching oil painting classes and various other medians, in her garage. Libby was an accomplished artist that could make you smile just by saying 'Hi'. She had a Love for Art and Teaching, a rare combination that is few and far in between, with whom I will always Love and remember.
After entering Art exhibits and showing, I decided to enter college and study Art and Architecture. Soon after, I got a job with civil engineering firm, drafting. (That's was when you still had to draw up plans by HAND, not a computer, to me it was still 'Art'. Soon the computer age came along, and Yes, well, I upgraded too.
Now, I've combined the Love of my oil paintings, photography and computers 'All into One'.. it's called Montage. The digital age is so Fantastic! That's why I said 'Art comes in many shapes, forms and fashion. The Love of 'Art' is a 'LIFETIME', it is not something you just do or learn from a book. It is a 'LIFETIME' of all the Love, Joy, pain and sorrow captured in one moment in time for you to see. So the next time you see ARTWORK, pause, think, and realize what kind of journey it took, to get here, FOR YOU TO SEE one moment in time.
Enjoy Life...
